Dear friends, glad that this is my 50th post. So decided to make any sweet recipes. I tried this Paneer Kheer. Also I am glad that my Chukku Milagu Kaarakkuzhambu (Spicy Dry Ginger & Pepper Curry) has been awarded the "Best Healthy Dish" an event hosted by Prabha (Prabha's cooking) and Julie (Erivum Puliyum), who is conducting this EP series. Thanks a lot for selecting my recipe.
Paneer, also known as cottage cheese, usually made by curdling milk with vinegar or lime juice. It is a good source of calcium and protein. Also its many of us favorite, which has high fat content. This kheer can be made very easily in minutes, in you have paneer handy. Also paneer can be made at home, which takes little more high process time. This tastes very delicious if you have it immediately or even more refreshing if you serve it chilled. I came out very well and it was very different from normal kheer and we can get those soft paneer pieces in between while we have this kheer. This will be a treat for paneer lovers.
Ingredients:
Milk - 4 cups/1 ltr
Paneer/Cottage cheese - 1/4 cup (shredded)
Corn flour - 1 tbsp
Ghee - 1 tbsp
Cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp
Raisins - 1 tbsp
Almonds - 1 tbsp (chopped)
Cashewnut - 1 tbsp (chopped)
Cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp
Method:
1) Heat a milk in a pan.
2) Once its hot, add the paneer/cottage cheese. Also mix 1/2 cup of water with the corn flour and add to the milk. Stir it occasionally, until it becomes thick.
3) Now heat a pan, add ghee. Also add all nuts and dry fruits.
4) Fry well and add it to the milk paneer mixture. Also add little cardamom powder.
5) Stir it well and your kheer is ready now.
You can serve it hot or even chill it and serve. Both tastes delicious.
